Tsum Valley trek starts from Aarughat after we drive from Kathmandu to Aarughat (7-8 hrs). From Aarughat our trekking goes ahead all the way through the old trading route via Tsum valley to Tibet. This Trek is a beautiful and very interesting trekking route that takes you to the remote area of the northern side of the Gorkha district. This is famous for its natural diversity, elevated mountains, toppling waterfalls, crystal clear streams, natural hot water springs, and diversity of flora. Tsum valley is an amazing Buddhist-based traditional cultural valley with peaceful sensation just below Mt. Ganesh, Mt. Bouddha, and Mt. Himal chuli. Apart from that in this Valley influenced by ancient Tibetan Buddhist culture and religion with delightful people. These people are mainly from the Tibetan Origin who mainly practice Buddhism and speak the Tibetan language. They celebrate festivals like Lhosar, Saka Dawa, etc.

Itinerary

Arrive in Kathmandu, the bustling capital city of Nepal. Transfer to your hotel and rest. In the evening, meet your trekking guide for a briefing.

 

Spend the day exploring Kathmandu’s cultural and historical sites, including Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Finalize trekking preparations and permits.

A scenic drive takes you through the countryside to Soti Khola, the starting point of the trek. Enjoy views of terraced fields, small villages, and rivers along the way.

Begin your trek with a hike along the Budhi Gandaki River, passing through lush forests and small settlements. The trail is relatively easy, with some ascents and descents.

The trail continues along the river, crossing suspension bridges and passing through beautiful landscapes. Jagat is a quaint village with traditional stone houses.

The trail ascends gradually through forests of rhododendron and pine, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Lokpa is a small village located at the entrance to the Tsum Valley.

Trek through dense forests and cross the Siyar Khola. The trail offers beautiful views of Ganesh Himal and leads to the village of Chumling, with its traditional Tibetan houses

Ascend through forests and terraced fields to the village of Chhokangparo, offering stunning views of the Ganesh Himal range. The village has a rich cultural heritage and traditional Tibetan architecture.

Continue trekking through the scenic Tsum Valley, passing by mani walls and chortens. Nile and Chhule are twin villages located on the banks of the Siyar Khola, surrounded by majestic peaks.

A day to explore Mu Gompa, one of the oldest and most significant monasteries in the Tsum Valley. Enjoy the serene atmosphere and panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

Trek back to the village of Chhokangparo and continue to Rachen Gompa, a nunnery with a peaceful setting. The trail offers stunning views of the mountains and the valley.

Descend to the Siyar Khola and trek through forests to Gumba Lungdang, a monastery with a spectacular location and breathtaking views of the Ganesh Himal range

Descend through forests and cross suspension bridges over the rivers. Ripchet is a picturesque village with traditional Tibetan houses and stunning views of the surrounding peaks.

Continue descending to the Budhi Gandaki River and trek to Deng, a small village with a mix of Tibetan and Gurung cultures.

The trail ascends steeply, passing through the picturesque village of Ghap. Enjoy views of snow-capped peaks and lush forests. Namrung is a charming village with stone houses and a Buddhist monastery.

The trail continues to climb, passing through forests of rhododendron and oak. Samagaon is a large village with stunning views of Manaslu and the surrounding peaks.

Spend the day acclimatizing to the altitude. Explore the village, visit the Pungyen Gompa, and enjoy the breathtaking views of Manaslu.

Trek through alpine landscapes, crossing glacial rivers and passing by mani walls and chortens. Samdo is a small Tibetan village with a rich cultural heritage.

A shorter trek day with a gradual ascent. The trail offers stunning views of Larkya Peak and the surrounding mountains. Dharamsala (also known as Larkya Phedi) is a basic settlement used by trekkers.

An early start to cross the challenging Larkya La Pass (5,106 meters / 16,752 feet). The ascent is steep and can be challenging due to the altitude, but the panoramic views from the pass are rewarding. Descend to Bimthang, a beautiful valley surrounded by towering peaks.

The trail descends through rhododendron forests and along glacial rivers. Tilije is a picturesque village with a mix of Tibetan and Gurung cultures.

Continue descending through lush forests and terraced fields. Tal is a charming village situated on the banks of the Marsyangdi River, known for its beautiful waterfall.

Drive back to Kathmandu, enjoying the scenic views along the way. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and rest.
