Langtang valley is an amazing beautiful Himalayan Buddhist village. There were existing one of the most ancient Tibetan cultural villages and their authentic cultural way of life until the earthquake of 25 April 2015. Despite earthquakes, the entire village was swift away by the avalanche of the highest mountain of the region Langtang Lirung, today entirely village reconstructed with the economical help of the international community and Nepal government. But still today we can see the terrible devastating destructive footprint of the earthquake in the valley and we can imagine what had happened in that unfortunate incident.
Overview
Langtang region is in the north of Kathmandu and borders to Tibet. It is protected as Langtang National park and it contains a wide variety of climatic zones, from subtropical to alpine, so that this region is also one of the very rich for flora and fauna in Nepal. This region is also very famous for Hindu pilgrims as a relaxed and reformatted place of lord Shiva. It is known as the holiest Gosainkunda Lakes(4,380m) and the beginning source of the Trisuli River. Once in a year, hundreds of thousand Hindus made a pilgrimage here in the month of August.

Itinerary
Arrive in Kathmandu, the vibrant capital city of Nepal. Transfer to your hotel and rest. In the evening, meet your trekking guide for a briefing and prepare for your adventure to Langtang and Gosaikunda.
Embark on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the starting point of the Langtang Valley trek. The drive takes you through picturesque landscapes, terraced fields, and charming villages. Arrive in Syabrubesi and prepare for the trek.
Begin your trek from Syabrubesi, following the trail along the Langtang Khola (river). The path winds through lush forests of oak, rhododendron, and bamboo, with occasional glimpses of Langtang Lirung. Arrive at Lama Hotel, a small settlement nestled in the forest.
Continue trekking through dense forests, crossing streams and passing by waterfalls. The trail gradually ascends, offering beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Arrive at Langtang Village, a traditional Tamang village that was heavily affected by the 2015 earthquake but has since been rebuilt.
Trek through yak pastures and alpine meadows, following the trail along the Langtang River. As you ascend, the landscape becomes more rugged and barren. Arrive at Kyanjin Gompa, a beautiful monastery surrounded by stunning mountain views. Explore the area and visit the local cheese factory.
– Spend the day acclimatizing to the higher altitude. You can take a hike to Kyanjin Ri (4,773 meters / 15,656 feet) or Tserko Ri (4,984 meters / 16,349 feet) for panoramic views of the Langtang range, glaciers, and surrounding peaks. Explore the monastery and enjoy the serene environment.
Retrace your steps, descending through the Langtang Valley. Enjoy the changing landscapes as you pass through alpine meadows and dense forests. Arrive back at Lama Hotel and rest for the night.
Continue your descent to Bamboo and then take a different trail leading to Thulo Syabru. The path offers beautiful views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Thulo Syabru is a traditional Tamang village known for its unique culture and hospitality.

Ascend through dense forests of oak, pine, and rhododendron to reach Shin Gompa, also known as Chandanbari. This village is famous for its cheese factory and the ancient Shin Gompa monastery. Enjoy the serene environment and the panoramic views of the mountains.
Continue trekking uphill through rugged terrain and beautiful landscapes to reach Gosaikunda. The trail offers stunning views of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges. Gosaikunda is a sacred alpine lake, revered by both Hindus and Buddhists, and is surrounded by majestic peaks.
Spend the day exploring the sacred Gosaikunda Lake and its surrounding area. You can visit other nearby lakes such as Saraswati Kunda and Bhairav Kunda. Enjoy the tranquil environment and the spiritual atmosphere of this holy site.
Begin your descent from Gosaikunda, trekking through alpine meadows and forests. The trail gradually descends to Dhunche, the administrative center of the Rasuwa district. Enjoy the scenic landscapes and the warmth of the local hospitality.
Embark on a scenic drive from Dhunche back to Kathmandu. Enjoy the changing landscapes as you descend from the mountains to the bustling city. Transfer to your hotel and rest, or explore more of Kathmandu’s cultural attractions.
