Itinerary

Welcome to Nepal! Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, a representative will meet you and escort you to your hotel. Take the remainder of the day to rest and adjust to your new surroundings. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore nearby areas such as Thamel, a bustling tourist district filled with shops, restaurants, and colorful streets.

Start the morning with a short trek briefing, where you’ll meet your guide and review essential preparations for the upcoming journey. Afterward, embark on a cultural tour of two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. First, visit the revered Pashupatinath Temple on the banks of the Bagmati River, where Hindu devotees gather for worship and cremation rites. Then, head to Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world. Circumambulate the majestic dome alongside monks and pilgrims, soaking in the stupa’s serene atmosphere.

Enjoy an early drive (6–7 hours) or a short domestic flight (approximately 25 minutes) to Pokhara (820m / 2,690ft)—a charming lakeside city known for its laid-back vibe and scenic beauty. After checking into your hotel, spend the rest of the day exploring Pokhara’s main attractions. Stroll around Phewa Lake, visit the bustling lakeside cafes, or take an optional tour to Devi’s Falls and Gupteshwor Cave. In the evening, you can relax at a lakeside restaurant and admire the serene mountain backdrop.

Your trekking adventure begins with a short drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, the trailhead for the Annapurna region. From here, start hiking through terraced fields and lively villages. Cross suspension bridges over streams and take in views of the surrounding hills. By afternoon, you’ll arrive at Tikhedhunga, a small settlement with cozy teahouses where you’ll spend the night. Enjoy dinner with fellow trekkers and rest up for the next day’s ascent.

Gear up for a more challenging day as you ascend a series of stone steps known to many as the “Ulleri Steps.” The climb can be demanding, but you’ll pass charming villages and lush rhododendron forests along the way. Keep an eye out for local birds and panoramic views of the valleys. By late afternoon, reach Ghorepani, a scenic stop famous for its vantage point of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Overnight in a local teahouse where you can recharge before your early morning adventure to Poon Hill.

Rise before dawn for a short but steep hike to Poon Hill, one of the best sunrise viewpoints in the Annapurna region. Watch as the first rays of sunlight illuminate the surrounding peaks—Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre. After taking in this unforgettable scene, descend to your lodge in Ghorepani for breakfast. Then, continue trekking through tranquil forests and rolling hills until you arrive at Tadapani, a small settlement offering sweeping vistas and a peaceful overnight stay.

Leave Tadapani and descend through lush forests of oak, rhododendron, and bamboo, alive with birdsong. As you near local villages, you’ll gain a glimpse into the daily life of the Gurung community. Finish the day with a final climb to Chhumrung, a picturesque village that serves as a gateway to the Annapurna Sanctuary. Enjoy dinner in a traditional teahouse, where you can rest and take in the majestic views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.

From Chhumrung, descend along well-trodden paths toward Ghandruk, a charming Gurung village known for its rich culture and heritage. The trail offers beautiful vistas of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and Annapurna peaks in the distance. Upon reaching Ghandruk, wander through its narrow lanes, observe local architecture, and visit the Gurung Museum to learn about the community’s history and traditions. Overnight in a comfortable teahouse that features stunning mountain views.

Today, you’ll descend from Ghandruk through terraced hills and occasional woodlands until you reach Nayapul once again. Your trekking route officially concludes here, where a vehicle awaits to take you back to Pokhara. Return to your hotel and enjoy a well-deserved shower or indulge in a lakeside meal, celebrating the successful completion of your trek.

Depart Pokhara early in the morning for a scenic drive through river valleys and terraced farmland back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy some free time to relax. You might choose to explore Thamel’s shops for souvenirs or savor Nepali cuisine in one of the many local eateries.

Discover two of the Kathmandu Valley’s most important historic sites—both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. First, head to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, renowned for its medieval Newari architecture, intricately carved woodwork, and vibrant pottery square. Then, explore Kathmandu Durbar Square, home to ancient palaces, courtyards, and temples that once hosted Nepal’s royal family. Stroll around these cultural landmarks, capturing the essence of Nepal’s storied past, before returning to your hotel.

Enjoy your final morning in Kathmandu, perhaps strolling the city streets one last time or relaxing at your hotel. At the designated time, transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight. You’ll depart Nepal with cherished memories of panoramic mountain vistas, rich cultural encounters, and the warm hospitality that makes this Himalayan nation so special.
